I am a certified birth and postpartum doula and lactation educator serving Los Angeles, California and surrounding areas. My commitment as a doula is to ensure you have the birth you envision. Whether your path includes meditation, medication or both, you can count on the birth to be what you design for you and your child’s birthing experience.

It is important that you are comfortable and confident in your choice of doula.

Birth Doula Services

Pre-Labor visits (2-3):

The first interview is free of charge and is a chance for us to get to know each other. We will discuss all of your birth options and I will answer any questions and address any concerns you may have. If you decide to engage me, a deposit of half the services fee and contract are required. The remainder of the fee is due 2 weeks prior to your due date.

We will then work together to understand your preferences and put together a game plan for you to achieve your birth goals. I am here to support your choices. This process will happen from the time we first meet until your birth day. The more time we have to work together prior to your EDD the better!

Two weeks prior to your due date I am on call and available to you 24 hours a day.

Labor:

During early labor, I am in contact with you, offering support and guidance over the phone. We will meet either at your home or the hospital depending on the circumstances and what the birth plan indicates. For inductions, I am with you when you check in at the hospital or birth center and then return again when active labor has begun.

After the baby is born I stay with you until you have established a successful latch.

* Virtual support support available

Postpartum:

Within the first week, we will meet again to answer any questions you may have. If breastfeeding is your choice I will support you in your success. We will discuss the details of the birth. This is a special time to talk about the birth and share our experiences.

Postpartum Doula Services

Once you arrive home with your precious new baby, there will be questions about how to care for yourself and your new baby. During our pre-labor time, we may discuss postpartum services listed below.

Breastfeeding or bottle-feeding:

If breastfeeding is your choice, I can offer assistance in helping a new mother and baby learn about each other at the breast. Or, if you have chosen to bottle-feed, I can offer support in that area as well. In addition, I can provide information and assistance with pumping and milk storage.

Physical recovery and emotional support:

In addition to services relating to your birth experience, I offer help in a mother’s physical recovery after childbirth and emotional adjustment to parenthood. A mother and baby can learn easier how to do what their instincts already tell them with my support. I can assist with small meal preparation for the mother and family members, help organize the nursery, run errands, including grocery shopping, and do light housekeeping chores such as dishes and laundry. It is a joy to be able to sit with you in the quiet of your home and help you learn about your baby at this personal and private time. It is a privilege to create a safe environment where you create your style of parenting.

Prenatal Yoga Services

Prenatal yoga is a wonderful way to get the mind, body, and spirit ready for the shifts and changes of pregnancy and childbirth. Our bodies are meant to give birth.

Childbirth is a mental and physical event that sometimes takes a lot of stamina. Our current lifestyle puts our bodies in positions that are not conducive for labor. In class we will work on exercises for alignment, strength, and optimal fetal positioning, opening the body and making space for baby.

In class we work on exercises and breath work to strengthen the mind. Labor is full of sensation. Labor is much more manageable when the mind is OK with sensation in the body. You can’t escape contractions. Breath is a beautiful tool in navigating contractions.

Prenatal yoga is also a wonderful way to create community and long-lasting friendships with mamas like yourself.
